Definite distinction between the tools too if you use them enough. I had Ryobi and Craftsman, now Ridgid (18v mainly because of warranty) and Milwaukee (M12 mainly for size).

I tried holding it down with gloves and a shop towel but the dang thing flings off. Might be cause of the weak lithium battery that came with the kit.

Maybe you should try holding the pulley? Wrap a rubber bungee cord, bicycle tube, etc around it for grip. They're generally not very tight...

Is this enough to remove a nut holding in the pulley on an alternator? My Craftsman C3 impact gun just makes the alternator pulley spin really fast....
