yeah the card worked fine. the only issue is that I used my wife's online account to activate the offer, but used my authorized user card to buy the gift card. This meant i did not get the $20 cash...

Nope. Mine just arrived. I was unable to use it on Amazon. The wording of the T&C's is a little different on the version it came with. Sounds like it must be used at a Hilton property. :(
