I think you just want to backup your save files right? If so, there's an option to Copy your ps4 save files to a USB hdd which is what I did. Check this link for quick tutorial...

Definitely reformat, I'm just saying that won't unlink the PS4 from your account.
It was actually harder changing the HDD as you also need to reinstall the OS.
Just make sure your backup worked...

I just did the "Initialize" and I think that is all you have to do to unlink your accounts because it reformats the HDD.
