It fit just fine. I used the thermal pad that was already installed on the exsisting drive and I had no issues with heat whatsoever, I'm idling around 25 degrees.

Be aware that in most cases you will be bottlenecked with 2 M.2 drives if used simultaneously. (DMI 3.0 bus - 32 Gbps - in practice you will get even lower than that, 24-28 Gbps, with say a Z170)
