I might rough plane with an electric but handplaning for finishing will make your sanding job a lot easier and prettier.

I have 2 different size electric hand planers and a bench planer and several other hand planes and they are all used on some projects, they each have their place

Agreed. I bought an electric for about that price and it works well. Unless someone wants the "Amish experience", I don't see a reason for hand tools.
