It's a strange size because it uses 384 Gbit packages. So it actually would come in at 576 GB (48 * 12) before any overprovisioning, as per Tom's. I understand your confusion on the matter, though.

Traditional (planar) TLC, you're right. But 3D TLC is a very different beast - much larger cells, which makes TLC very viable and in some cases even better than traditional MLC. What's worrying...

I've been running this drive for a couple years. Cold boot into Windoze (no fast boot) is about 7 seconds. My commonly played games reside on this drive with no problems....not so much as a hiccup
