Would have been nice to use 10' micro USB cables I already had instead of buying 15' mini USB cables that serve no other purpose. (They always seem to be dead when you want to use them)

Stop confusing people. They are the same except for the charging port. I use my PS3 ones, they have zero issues with VR and their battery life is still about 8 hours.

I looked a little bit further into the batteries. It's about $10 each on amazon. I don't see that its any cheaper on ebay. You figure it would be about $1-5 each in a thirft store for the move...

Well, do you have to do an iFixit Teardown-level of DIY to change the battery though? How much chance that a battery you order on a slow boat from foreign lands ends up being incompatible?

From what I’ve heard, the gyroscope/accelerometer/light orb tracking is the same, it’s just that the rechargeable batteries in the older USB controllers... are old. Like, some kind of ability to hold...
