4790k here also. I am getting a 2080ti and the 4790k just won't be enough for it. When the next big tech jump happens like intel and 10nm I will build another system then and give the one I am...

The 9600k is at the top of my list. I’m hoping for a good combo paired with a z390 mATX mobo but the closer we get to BF the less likely that’s looking.

There you go, 16,970 Passmark score without overclocking. I'm waiting 1-2 more years and going for something that'll score as close to 20,000 as possible, mostly for newer chipsets and features. I...

Does it make sense to upgrade from 6600k? I'm not going to OC. Rest of the setup is z170 Mobo 16gb ddr4 and 1070oc. I did plan to upgrade to 2080 within a year. This is strictly for gaming purposes.

I have a 6600k and I don't plan on purchasing a new CPU till 2-3 years from now. If you don't overclock, perhaps wait till intel releases cannonlake which will have die shrink and hopefully a larger...

If you game in 1080p or 1440p, get this. In 4K gaming, most games are GPU limited, so you'll get around the same FPS with either 9600K or 2700X. The 2700X with its 8 cores and 16 threads is better...

You would have to check on the z390 MB. Some of the budget MB have lower quality VRM on them and if you want to OC you need a better z390 with better VRM. With a 1080 ti or 2080 ti it will be great...
