I have the 7810 from Costco. It's a nice sounding amp but still doesn't compare to my 1980 Sansui G8000. The amp quality is what makes the difference in the sound. Modeling just hides a bad amp.

Here is my train of thought on this. You should upgrade your receiver for the features not to manipulate the sound. If you don’t need Atmos or like Bluetooth or WiFi then no real reason to upgrade....

How did u fine tune your system? I hAve the tsr7850 with rp-280fs, 450c, r-115sw.. it seems weak.. my distance is 16 ft, rp-280fa is 9 feet apart
