I ended up dinking around in bios, and formatted the spinny drive, it took some time. However i am enjoying the laptop now well worth it.

Mainly you can hear the fan on and off. It starts to get annoying if I'm in a quiet place like a library. And mine had webcam problems but I went back to a previous windows build and is working fine...

I have the Matebook D with this CPU and it hauls ass. Granted mine has an SSD and 4GB more RAM, but if you don't do photo editing and such, an SSD upgrade will make this Dell scream.

You only need M.2 if you want to keep the 1TB HDD in there with the SSD. I recommend replacing the HDD (could use SATA or M.2) because it reduces weight and improves cooling.

I have this laptop in slightly different spec (8GB RAM + Touchscreen). I replaced the HDD with an SSD. I mainly use this for work where I'm logged into a remote machine 100% of the time, and it works...

You may be right. This Inspiron is available in HD and FHD variants. The review comments on Walmart indicate HD despite the description saying FHD. Impossible to know which without a box at...

I'd skip this generation of Ryzen mobile processors, Gen 2 Ryzen+ was announced at CES and should be available soon. Look for the 3xxx series.
