Is this based on specs or have you heard and/or seen a review of both? I ask because the Infinity R12 sub is currently on sale for 170 (not refurb) and it looks to be very similar to the jbl 260p.

Agreed, overpriced based on overall performance. Might be solid for music only at this price, but super weak for movies. In my experience, the ML subs are pretty accurate and ok for music, but...
