That's certainly really frustrating to encounter. I can understand why that wouldn't be an issue with Elixirs, seeing as they're coated, but it shouldn't be an issue with any strings that are sealed....

yeah I realize this, and was able to get replacement packs when I called them up. (they know this) but it just sucked opening a sealed pack only to find rusted strings. I've some packs of elixirs...

Light strings are just fine on electric guitars, particularly for rock, country-rock and blues. Decent pickups can provide a good signal with any diameter strings.

GHS now package their strings with nitrogen, and if they get corroded by the time you open them they'll replace them.

10-46 is the standard gauge for Gibson guitars. 9-42 is standard for Fenders. Considering that I use both gauges of strings and GHS makes good strings, I bought 20 sets. This is a good price.
