I doubt it for much anything practicle. Other than opening a door or lifting something as sort of a poor man's hoist, I really can't see much use for the thing if it is the standard fair garage door...

It doesn't stop there. DW gets in car, starts it and then calls me to tell me the garage door won't open. As far a battery backup. That's why the doors are balanced....sigh

Why not just resell them on Ebay\CL assuming they have a little value? That or donate them to some charity for a write off (assuming you could get them to take it).
