I don't notice any fumes at all.. I think that's more for ABS material. PLA is more organic I think and doesn't produce any type of smell. I just run it inside my room.

The black board is the stock print bed material. Using clips is easiest way I’ve found so far. But yes, it stays on.

Woot has SainSmart PRO-3 PLA 3D Printer Filament on sale for around $20 depending on the color. Purple, wood, and a orange color. Someone said earlier they was a high quality so I ordered one of each.

This is never $300. There is a pro version of it that sells regularly for around $260. This hovers around $189-$199, so the post is a good deal. A month ago it was $133 on a lightning deal though.

I suspect that it's your bed. It could be warped. You can run CHEP's bed level gcode and see if all 4 corners and center are level by sliding a piece of printing paper under the nozzle. You would...
