You'd have to wire this yourself. And if your wanting it somewhere that there isn't an existing light you'd have to run electrical to your mounting location.

I think with every manufacturer you can run into a dud, especially those motion sensor failing is very common, but if you get from local BM store you usually get 90 days to return for replacement....
