I had this game on the PS4 and i really like what they were going for but I feel off pretty quick. I wouldn't mind playing it again just don't see the need to double dip again

I'm pretty sure VC4 has a demo. If you play that you'll get an idea of what the VC1 gameplay is like and it should help you see if this game is your cup of tea.

I don't remember that particular mission, but in general scouts can be made totally OP, and don't forget about the orders you can issue - they can make a huge difference.
