I have a seagate in my HP Desktop (2009 model) and still going strong. I've used it everyday for 10+ years. I did just add a SSD as the main drive, it's way faster now.

I don't think these are meant to be run 24/7. As far as 2.5" surveillance drives, WD has 2.5" Red drives made for NAS. Don't know if that will work for you.
