You can cancel as soon as your rebates show up. If you cancel any sooner the salesman may not get their commission (so I hear) so that may be a reason to give you wrong information.

In Costco, for two lines it's somewhere around $100. But you can downgrade to voice only plan, by calling/chatting with T-Mobile CSR. Minimum voice plan is $20/line (unlimited talk/text, no data)
