To be fair, Sedona is a decent reel. The fact that it has been in the market for many years without being discontinued speaks for it. The problem is that, for beginners, it is a bit too expensive,...

A 8000-sized reel is too big for a freshwater beginner IMHO. But again the smaller sized models in this post is not a really good price. I would suggest a 3000-sized reel paired with a ML-powered...

I have the 8000SW one, got it for free with CC points i had. I use it for salmon fishing, its big but pairs nicely with a 9.6ft rod. I was able to put on 300yrd of 20lb braid and its 3/4 full. Very...

Sorry for beginner questions, but what would be a good rod to pair this with, and what line? I would use it for fresh water fishing and a rare trip to the coast to fish in the intercostals... no...

“Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.” I have many rigs that I'll use in the lakes one day and the half-day boat or kelp beds the next. It's...

It's absolutely fine for saltwater (dry land or boat, not surf or kayak) as long as you rinse it after each use it will last forever. Not my first choice but for 50 bucks I would give it a thought
