Because even if your battery isn't as good or new as his, it still probably has quite a bit of life left in it. And even if it fails, it's really cheap and easy to replace. I'm beyond baffled...

Yes, graphics will use 2GB after you upgrade the RAM -- don't see an option to adjust it (install AMD Radeon Settings if you don't have it) I have 16gb in mine and 13.9GB is usable
