Yes. Mostly trolling, jigging, drifting, etc. Some people might use them differently but that's the main use. Not so much deep sea, more inshore/near shore and deep lake/bay/similar.

This isn't a reel that you're casting much if any to fish so there's no switch involved as with a baitcaster. You'd usually want your stronger side on the crank in this case.

I'm right-handed and prefer left-hand conventional reels. And know many others who do. Just saying.. P.S. Don't know about this particular reel.

Fwiw this is a left hand reel. Generally lesser demand as classic conventional reels are right handed mostly
