Mine arrived in like new condition. No scuffs/scrapes/dings. Batteries had no insertion lines on them as if they were never used. Each had the letter "R" scribed on them. The impact easily removed...

Mine didn't have a mark on them at all, except two little initials neatly soldered onto the inside of each battery. Almost looked like it was done to make them look "used". Guess I just got lucky.

DeWalt is a contractors favorite tool in my experience. Like, they all run around with DeWalt. As for the charger being light weight, wouldn't that be to lessen the load as you hump your stuff around...

DCK280C2 is $129 at Lowe’s which looks to be a similar combo with 3 year warranty and fast charger. Sale ends 10/31. According to drill and driver dot com, the dck280 and dck240 can handle carpentry...
