Most people can't take advantage of HDR to begin with, you need a source with that encoding. You also need a tv with a bright enough output to not make it a joke, and that doesn't happen at this...

I bought this for $1000 two years ago and everyone is quite impressed when they come to my house and watch it. I'm not a huge visual-phile so I don't miss the HDR.
