Primes like the 35 f/1.8 will make it hard to use zooms, my shots from zooms just don't pop like the prime lenses, even if you're stopped down to f8 or something, the primes still shine.

Great value and if you don’t have it you really should get it. I’m a big proponent of shooting on primes as opposed to zooms, makes you more intentional with your photography.

I pulled the trigger on a new 35 1.8 from amazon and a new 50 1.8 from eBay within the past year, both times it was $150 or $160 and they are hands down on my crop sensor 50x more than my zoom...
