Hood makes a huge difference if you have short (or no) hair. Provides a lot more insulation than a hat and scarf ever will. I’m also not sure what you mean by lack of durability, these aren’t jackets...

I got the jacket for $99 on clearance last year. I don’t think the hoodie was much more and I don’t think this is a worthwhile deal. I also haven’t found this jacket to be particularly well...
