It heavily depends on what you are cooking. For eggs, I would certainly say it is a waste and takes way longer, but for denser foods or recipes that normally take a long time is where it really shows...

Do you use it heavily? I've yet to have to replace a gasket and my IP gets fair use and I've had it for a few years. The wife just started using it, so maybe the gasket will wear out more likely now....
