This is good for this price but a DIY route is untreated paving stone, which will run about $5. Just make sure it says untreated and lead free, as your pizzas go directly on it when you bake....

As i said earlier i believe it's from cleaning stones with detergent. It stays on the stone and burns. Use water only to clean.
