The good thing about this watch is it's a nice watch as long as it ticks; the crystal will outlast the movement. When it quits, it'll be a $300 paperweight because it won't be worth fixing.

Have you tried taking it to a watchmaker? Might be easy and inexpensive to get fixed. For what it's worth, I have a 5-year old Tissot Le Locle that I also got at Jomashop and have no issues with it.
