You have no idea what you are talking about. Dewalts 18v line has been dead for years and the newer line IS the 20v line with slide packs. The entire 20v line can take 20v or flexvolt battery....

The problem is, these aren't really "20v" batteries. They put out approx. 18v (~18.5) because the nominal voltage of lithium batteries is 3.7 volts. They use 5 lithium cells in series and call them...

No they don't work with 18v adapter. I have one and tried would have to modify adapter by cutting notch out. I just figured there was a reason why doesn't let you

You are right they do, but I never said 20V. The entry level and most midrange Dewalt tools are 18V and the battery will fit but it is not recommended to use them together.

The adaptor just changes the type of plug type to make your old tools use new technology don’t use that or you may send 60 volts to a 18 volt unit might not be pretty results unless you like burnt...

Even 20 volt (non-flexvolt) Knockoff 9ah batteries are $70/ea. This is a good deal. Unfortunately, the 12ah batteries are still $250 ea...lowest I ever saw was $180ish.
