But how tight can you go under the "no impact" mode? If it's just an electronic mode then it isn't disabling the mechanism, just killing the motor when it senses its about to impact.

The clutch in my dewalt xr impact does that, turning speed starts to slow down with resistance then further trigger pull engages impact.
Also has a switch for a no impact mode, then low and high
