Not common at all. Most big name manufacturers have gone to no flip design (even on non pillow top) as it allows for a better base (within the mattress) layer.

Never understood why anyone buys a pillowtop. Seems better to get a non pillowtop so you can flip it every 6 months. And just buy a good separate latex topper. That can be replaced much cheaper....
