Even if the dimensions allowed a rod beyond a medium to ultralight...this is not the correct style for sand use. Sand anchors are a flattened out disc style vs this tubular design.

I don't think these were ever designed to be used in the surf. The surf requires completely different equipment. I have diy pvc pipes for the surf. Look on YouTube, cut the pipes at the store.
