The airlines would have failed years ago if not for taxpayer propping up. You can argue that would have been better in the long run (and that would probably be correct imo), but that ship has sailed...

I’m willing to bet the airlines will take this as an opportunity for additional cost cutting and delay or eliminate the return of the service cart.

Don't know how many international flights there are these days, but from what I have heard most domestically have gone from peanuts\chips and a can (or in the case of United, a dixie cup lol) of soda...

On the flip side many of these hotel and airline cards are now offering multiples on other purchases like grocery stores. So you're likely getting more than an effective 1 cent per point (1%).

I always go with cash back because I can make gains with it, and because I am confident I can get deals on flights/hotels at any point I decide.
