This is an excellent projector. I have the 6040UB (same performance) and the picture on my 140 inch screen is beautiful. Highly recommended.

Oh no my bad I have the 5040 so I misread you. It’s very possible the 5050 does this. I never understood how epson missed this feature or never firmware released for the 5040.

Totally worth it if you are going to spend decent time using it. Anyone would immediately feel the difference. I have Netflix and Prime. These days I enjoy watching on projector than 4k TV.
