Thats normal modern watch size...42mm doesnt say much, its the lug to lug that truely matters When its a 12mm watch thick? Rolex are around 11-12mm

Make sure he's able to wear a 42mm watch that's almost 12mm thick. That's a big hunk of metal. Otherwise it's a good watch
