Hi aleatoric Yes it is overwhelming. If you have time, just pickup one good long cat5e/6 cable with copper wires, a small poe switch, and a Amcrest 5MP turret camera with a 3.6mm lens - and...

Hi Aleactoric, I currently do not know of a kit with 1/1.8" sensors I would recommend for my friends / family that is on a deal. I know the Dahua OEM products better than the Hikvision products...

Yes, actually I did just that this week. I was able to load the Dahua firmware on to the 1179. No downside that I've found. Was very straight forward. I did try to roll back to Amcrest firmware...

Hi Matt, I've been trying to research cameras for the past month and each time I think I've found something I'd like to buy, I learn about something new that the camera lacks. You're the resident...

HI @spaceistheplace... "Any equivalent in terms of features of the 810?" - Reolinks do poorly in low light conditions. "Really wanna upgrade to 4K with reasonable night vision.." Look for...

Got it. Any equivalent in terms of features of the 810? It’s a 4K cam with very good image quality. Looks like their firmware sucks. Any Amcrest or dahua ? Really wanna upgrade to 4K with...

Hi spaceistheplace Reolink is disliked by many Blue Iris fans at ipcamtalk I'd avoid it if you want to go with Blue Iris. Too many issues.
