I believe the FireCube in Kodi has a way to send this as LPCM audio to the receiver (its not the same thing, but audio quality should be the same). This will not work in Plex etc though.

That's not how that works, sadly. The device will support apps that have 4K Dolby Vision source video, but you need to have a TV that can display 4K Dolby Vision as well. Otherwise it will default...

I've tried 65 GB 4K HEVC rips that have TrueHD/DTS-HD MA soundtracks that I can stream over wireless using the non-pro Shield. Are you using Plex or Kodi? Check out the link I posted on post #94....

Nope. Both, your player (4K disc player or streaming device like this Shield) and your display device (like TV) need to support DV.
