Get out a baking pan with sides and no mess. Sure some will get on the ground here and there but it’s no worse than play-doh. We have a table specifically for this with a deep basin, kids love it...

Never had a problem with messes at my house. Just dump it onto any baking sheet / brownie tin that has a 1" lip and it stays contained in that space...
