Check out cheapmanaudio on YouTube. He reviews a lot of inexpensive speakers. He recommends the Sony core speakers in the $100 range, although I find them too bright and lack bass.

Not really. I haven't heard any model that is not at least 5 years old. I'm really glad you like yours. Sometimes it's just a matter of personal preference. I'm a bit sensitive to high frequencies...

I have RP-280FAs and they sound fantastic for both movies and music. I read that the RP-8000F tweeter is even smoother. Have you heard them in person?

Don't let the Klipsch name fool you these are your average shitty bookshelf speakers. Even the higher end RP-600M is lacking. I do like their towers and subs though.

Wow, that's a tough one. Do you mean to listen to music while on the laptop? For that purpose you would be better off with powered speakers. Probably some powered monitor speakers. But to be honest,...

Have you listened to this specific one? For the lower end these are fairly tame. Considerably better than the synergy or most of the older reference line around similar money

How's this compare to the Harmon Kardon onyx studio 4? Guess that one blows this one out of the water for music?

These are not from the good line of Klipsch speakers. Check out cheapaudioman on youtube for some real world reviews and testing. The Sony SSCS5 are a better buy when they are on sale for under $100.

You know, we all read about how efficient Klipsch claims all their speakers to be, then I see all these reviews where the person is comparing them to other brands and mentions they really weren't any...

I love the 2.1 promedia THX setup but will say my newer set is not as good as my set from 15 years ago. It's kind of an odd comparison since the promedia are a tiny footprint and sit on a desk....

That's how I used them in a 7.1 setup. They're big enough to have volume and small enough they tucked under the arms of my couch.

These measure very poorly. https://audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/klipsch-r-41m-bookshelf-speaker-review.11566/ For surrounds in a home theater setup they're probably fine but...

IMO these were a bit too bright. But these are definitely good for a beginner 4.1 setup (Front n rears) for anyone who isn't too particular/audiophile and dont wish to spend a fortune on their first...
