Something a beginning hobbyist likely doesn't care about either. Any dado i've needed to make has been easily done using a router or multiple passes on a table saw.

Just look at HD or Lowes and you'll see the 8.25" version, I don't recall the model. I'd get whichever one suits you the most. If the 8.25" version wasn't around i'd get the 10" without question...

This saw isn't worth $600 to start with. You could gey a comparable saw from Ridgid and it has a much better stand
