Thanks! I did walk into a local music store and bought my kid a Fender guitar and glad I did since the personal service was great and even got 8 lessons in store. Good tip!

Don't go ultra cheap on your first guitar. It'll feel like shit with sharp fret edges and rough, grindy frets, going out of tune, strings buzzing, etc. It'll sound meh, too. For just a little more...

I agree. Don't let people who profit off new guitars tell you otherwise

Terrible advice. We depend on a healthy supply of closet guitars to stock the secondary market.

The Mitchell 450 is on sale for $199 at musician's friend too, down from $399. You get a bunch of features you would usually only find on more expensive guitars like coil tapping on the humbuckers,...

Fender Player Jazz Bass. Assuming you actually play it, you likely won't ever sell it since it is good enough to perform or record with and not so crappy that you would be compelled to upgrade it.

I want to find a good deal on the Axion Line S. I don't personally have an interest in the RG. If anyone sees a deal on the S, please let me know!

Totally fair! Maybe the LP was better for you as a beginner (playing a lot of cowboy chords possibly) and then the thin necks fit your intermediate/advanced style better.

I agree 100%.. and even said the same thing when I decided to pick up the guitar a few months ago.. but these online deals were too tempting and I gambled. Luckily I got incredible deals on two...

I highly recommend Ibanez Axion line. I've owned one with the S body and played the RGA and RGD. All flawless as far as I could tell. The specs are pretty close to $2k Prestige models. The finishes,...

I disagree; in my experience of helping beginners (friends and family) try out different guitars in a store, they can quickly pick up on what feels comfortable to their hands and body. Guitar body...

I'd go for the gold top Epiphone Les Paul for 399. The strat is cool too, but they go $200 cheaper on adorama all the time. Don't forget to sign up musician's Friend rewards program. You'll...
