Acer from Acer direct had scuff on corned, dent/scuff on bottom. Rubber pad torn so laptop tilts to left. I could live with it, but since the scuffs/dents looked like from drops I was very skeptical...

Then you'll have to buy the cheap laptops - I think generally IdeaPad 3 and below have at least 1 SODIMM - or ThinkPad, although even there soldered RAM is increasingly the norm.
