I got one and loving mine. I tried putting the battery in some other AAA 3x battery devices but it doesn't work, since the light is designed to handle the lithium battery in this one.

Not at all. You might have a bad one? But i have not used it at full brightness more than a minute. I have just used it on medium basically for that 80min i used it for.
