There is no downgrade firmware for this model available. You will end up paying $250 or more for the HP toner, which cost 4-6 times higher than genetic toner.

High toners cost kills the deal as it's recurring cost vs this one time saving of printer. Will wait for another printer deal with low per print cost.

I think a high end inkjet is better suited to photos. I need a fast color laserjet printer for ppt or other office docs. This printer is designed for this role.
