It will be automatically declined when there is insufficient fund to cover the purchase. I usually pay my utility bills with the residual balance of these prepaid Visa/MC cards.

How do these work when they get to the end of the amount on the card? Do they stop at $200 and then you have to pay the remainder? Or if there is not enough to cover the cost, it auto declines?

I had the doctor's office run all the MC ones as credit, no problem. I have not tried it online yet, but will do it next week for my car insurance.
