I bought it for that exact reason. I keep a bunch of rechargeables in here and use the back side for regular AA and AAA non-rechargeables. Been great. Just picked it up from this deal.

Couldn’t you just flip all the ones that is old/need recharge upside down or if you are using the side with all double A, flip the positive side facing left need charging and positive facing right...

Not sure what all the fuss is about. I got one of these last week (from a deal on here) and it was so flimsy. One of the latches literally broke on first use. More cheap Chinese garbage.
