Back in December 2022, I actually got the 1.5% using the Double Cash card. I had forgotten that I activated Citi Merchant Offer. And I was pleasantly surprised to get it.

From what I can see, you can add the card to venmo, which treats it as a debit card charging no money to send, and send it to yourself/spouse in another account. Am I missing anything as to why this...

I've used these visa gift cards in the past to pay power bills, target.com and amazon. I do a gift card reload with Amazon for $250 and use it up in one shot. And even NY state tax portals work...
