SWA credits for flight cancellations never expire now. I think they changed the policy around July last year. https://www.southwest.com/help/changes-and-cancellations/flight-credit

I've bought Southwest gift cards many times from Sam's and it's always a guessing game. Sometimes it's been less than 30 minutes but more recently it's been 12-14 hours.
