Not that this is a bad solution, but if they are solid wood doors, you could use a hole saw to create a plug (and dowel to plug the hole in the plug from the centering bit) and then sand and paint...

Nice, I installed 2 of these a few months ago and used the white clear-ish foam that was packed with something. Just used a hole saw to cut out the perfect size.
