i held out for almost a year waiting for a better selection. I contacted sony today and they said my TV was no longer in the program due to age. but they still offered a 55hx750 for $950.

No, it's $350 vs $840. Just wondering if it's worth spending the extra $500. From the reviews on Cnet, it seems it is, since they didn't particularly care for the 750 but loved the 850.

If i remember correctly, that was the only 55" set they offered me. The other ones were smaller, a 40" and a 46". That's why I went with the HX. Wasn't really interested in the 3D until recently. ...

I'd wait. Let them clear out more of this year's models again and try again in a month or so. The BX line is what I call their "bargain basement" line. Pretty much the only thing you'll be showing...
